Why use Aihangsoft Voice Recorder

One click to record

Grant access once and the microphone is ready. Press record and the meter shows your input straight away.

Pause and resume

Mistakes are not a problem. Pause the take, collect your thoughts, and continue in the same file.

Private and local

Audio is captured and kept in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so interviews and notes stay on your device.

Built for quick audio capture

Download in the recorded format

Save the take as your browser records it, WebM with Opus on Chrome and Edge, MP4 with AAC on Safari. The download button always matches the file you actually have.

Use case: notes, voice memos, quick captures

Convert to MP3

Turn the take into a 192 kbps MP3 that plays in any editor, phone or car stereo. The engine is downloaded only when you ask for it, so the page stays fast.

Use case: podcasts, editing, sharing

Pick your microphone

Choose between built-in and external microphones before recording, so a headset or USB mic is used instead of the default input.

Use case: interviews, narration, online lessons

Live level meter

A real time meter shows how loud the input is, so you notice a muted or too quiet microphone before you waste a take.

Use case: checking audio before a long recording

Voice recorder FAQ

Yes. The recorder is completely free, has no time limit and adds no watermark to your audio. You can record as many takes as you like and download them all without signing up.
The format depends on your browser. Chrome and Edge usually produce WebM with Opus, while Safari produces MP4 with AAC. The download button follows whatever your browser records, so the file may be .webm, .ogg or .m4a.
The MP3 conversion runs entirely on your device and needs an audio engine of about 30 MB, which is downloaded the first time you click Convert to MP3. Later conversions reuse the cached engine and start much faster.
No. Your microphone audio is captured and processed inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded, streamed or stored on a server, and closing the tab removes the recording.
The page must be opened over HTTPS and you have to allow microphone access. If you blocked the prompt earlier, open the site permissions in your browser, allow the microphone, and reload the page.
Yes. The microphone list lets you pick any connected input device before you start. You can also leave it on Default device to use whatever your operating system has selected.
